Outdoor Speakers

Whether your landscape design calls for an outdoor kitchen, deck, patio, swimming pool, or garden retreat, don’t forget to include music for your outdoor entertainment areas.  Many great landscape designs treat entertainment systems as an afterthought, but incorporating outdoor speakers into the design process you will end up with better results acoustically and aesthetically.

Outdoor waterproof speakers can be mounted along the house or other structure.  Strategic placement under the eaves or in a corner can help improve performance, particularly with the bass.  The sound will be projected further into the listening area and the speakers will enjoy a little protection from the elements.

Taking it to the next level means selecting speakers that blend into your landscape design.  High quality speakers are available that are disguised as rocks, planters, and light fixtures.  These speakers make it easy to listen to high quality sound in areas where traditional outdoor speakers would be a challenge to mount or would look out of place.

Rock speakers look like small to medium sized boulders and are available in a variety of colors and textures to match your granite, sandstone, or other natural stone.  These can be placed anywhere in your landscape to provide great sounding music while blending seamlessly into their surroundings.

For decks, patios, outdoor kitchens, and other outdoor entertainment area, speakers incorporated into useable planters or pots are excellent choice.  Similarly, speakers hidden in light fixtures such as spotlights or path lights blend in while providing excellent sound quality.

To really pump up the bass, consider an in-ground subwoofer.   These are buried underground and provide thumping bass without taking up space or detracting from the décor.  Your landscape professional can help you design and incorporate speakers into your landscape design to maximize your enjoyment of your outdoor entertainment areas.
