Outdoor Lighting Sets the Mood in Your Backyard

Extend your time in the backyard or out on the porch by installing quality outdoor lighting. These low voltage or solar lighting systems provide the ideal amount of illumination in the area, without seeming too bright and glaring. Affordable to operate and often reasonably priced for both the set and installation, exterior lighting is something every home should have.

Outdoor lights can be included in many different areas across your yard. Place solar light sets in the garden to naturally brighten that space in the evening, allowing you to enjoy some amazing views of blossoms and foliage. Or use a transformer and connect a line of low voltage lanterns along the pathways in your yard to create a safer, more inviting walk.

Your deck or patio is the perfect place for outdoor lighting. Have low profile lights installed on railing posts, in stair faces and post caps on your wooden deck. Some lighting fixtures can actually be installed with the stone patio, although installation can be tricky and may involve major alterations on some of the stone.

Deck or patio lighting systems come in solar-powered designs, but most work on low voltage with a simple transformer plugged into your GFI and mounted in a convenient location. You can set up a photocell sensor that will activate the lights at dusk and either keep them on for a predetermined amount of time or shut them off at dawn. This makes operation ultra simple and convenient.

Outdoor lighting can also be mounted on the wall or fence, but these tend to be less for atmosphere and more for security. Set the mood with good quality landscape lighting systems designed to provide gentle, yet effective outdoor lighting.
