Upgrade Your Home’s Curb Appeal With Expert Landscaping

Published on: January 3, 2015

If you’re planning to sell your home this year, you may be wondering what you can do to speed up the selling process. While there are many improvements which can be made to increase your home’s value, few are as inexpensive or easy as landscaping. Any realtor will tell you that curb appeal can drastically affect how potential home buyers view a home. Make you home more enticing with these landscaping tricks.

Add an Island

You may not own an island home, but you can add an island to your landscaping. A boring front lawn can be drastically improved with the addition of an island that has character. Add a few big boulders from a local landscape supply store, or create a cute little flower garden to give your front yard pizazz.

Emphasize the Front Entrance

If you have a plain entrance, it can detract from your curb appeal. Invite home buyers into the home with the addition of friendly bushes on either side of the front steps or entrance. Talk to your local landscaper or landscape supply store about what plants will look their best during the months you plan to put your home on the market.

Potted Plants

A good way to detract from or cover ugly areas in the front of your home is with beautiful, potted plants. Use large pots to hide bare patches in the lawn, or hide a small area of peeling paint on your garage.

First impressions are important! These few tricks can help improve your home’s curb appeal; however, investing in a landscape service before and during the period when your property is being shown can make a big difference in how quickly your home sells.
